Topeng Monyet
Following yesterday’s post, here is the answer to their curiousity. They were watching at one talented monkey. This door to door circus show is called Topeng Monyet. They put on the show for around five to ten thousand rupiahs or about US$1.00. The monkey is trained to do a few smart moves. Kids always have fun watching it although some might be a little scared.
That must be a talented monkey.

I have to say that I find the sight of a trained monkey on a lead, somewhat distressing.

interesting indeed - wow - $1 is all they charge - that is a steal in this country! I guess this would be equivalent to us charging $15-$20 for a whale or dolphin show
I know it’s sad for the monkey, but these people are desparate, and they don’t exactly get much support from the govt.
