Javanese weddings are grand affairs - even if you don’t have much money. The ceremonies are very long, held over three days. It is one heck of an ordeal for the bride and groom. At moments you can see their exhaustion. I think the bride suffers the most. Can you imagine wearing all that make-up in 30 degree heat? Aduh!
it also takes hours to get the make up done. some starts at 4 in the morning for a wedding at 9 am.

No, Not that much, not until 3 days.. it’s optional.. but usually they held into 3 step, first “meminang” or asking to the bride family to propose their daughter’s hand in marriage. second is important, formally married by religion, and the third part is a party or time to give blessing to the groom and bride. can be one day for over all processing.
